- Pretty chocolate lined easter Kinder eggs

- Jonsi – Go – music that lifts my spirit, makes me soar and want to get up, dance, sing at the top of my lungs and remember why the world is such a beautiful place.

- An interesting article on how to make your own lye from wood ash.

- Your Money, The Missing Manual – I read JD’s blog on a regular basis and I’ll have to say that I’m in a MUCH MUCH MUCH better financial state than I was four years ago because of it. I know a lot of the book may be pieces of articles I’ve already read, but I have no hesitation in going out and picking it up anyways.

- Good article on overcoming bumps on your financial road

- Portion Control Bowls – These would be especially good for pasta, cereals, casseroles, nuts, etc.

- What a book would look like if Calvin and Hobbes grew up and became best friends with McGuyver – otherwise known as “Absinthe & Flamethrowers: Projects and Ruminations on the Art of Living Dangerously”.

- This is an article I didn’t like, but it sure got me riled up.
First off, comparing commercial feedlot pork to pastured, well-raised, healthy pork is like comparing apples to dump trucks. Not even in the same zip code. If you feed your pigs scraps from the healthy things that you eat, then it would be eating just as healthy as you would be and I can’t imagine that it would have 99% of the issues that they describe in this article. Frankly, I was offended by this, and felt that I must speak out in defense of pork because of it. Quoting scripture and “tests” that prove it’s toxicity without any kind of referencing just seems like propaganda-y slander. I make it a point, as much as possible, to eat local, pastured pork, where I know the farmer’s have taken good care of the animals and they have been kept and slaughtered in conditions I find acceptable. This got me really riled up today and I had to post some defense backed up with some facts. One thing I found while looking was this rather funny Snopes article about worms coming out of pork marinated in Coke. Especially check out the last picture, where magically gummy worms start coming out of the pork chops ;).
